This week we have really enjoyed looking at different authors on ‘Authorfy’ and completing their challenges!

We started off the week creating our own characters inspired by things that we like and adding qualities that we have to make our characters show a little bit of us!! Later in the week we looked at Julia Donaldson’s story The Teeny Weeny Genie and thought about what we would wish for if we have one magic wish.

But… most exciting of all… we looked at The Flamingo Hotel written by Alex Milway.

In Alex’s books Anna the hotel owner encounters lots of different problems as lots of different animals turn up to stay at her hotel. We had a think about the characters we would like to come to the hotel and what problem they might have. For example Gerry the Giraffe was too tall for the shower. So he had to go to bed without a wash!! And Walter the Killer Whale needed a water bed. But the hotel didn’t have any!!

What an exciting week we have had. I hope you have all enjoyed getting to know some new stories and their authors, I know I have.

An ENORMOUS thank you to all of the grown ups at home for your support with the home learning. I have really enjoyed looking at and reading through the learning that has been handed in. A big thank you also to all of our key worker parents who continue to support our community whilst their children are working hard at school.
