Spellings
This week we are going back to our Year 1 common exception word spellings. Lots of us are very good at reading these words by sight which is brilliant – this will hopefully help with the spelling of them. If your child is confident spelling the word on its own please support them to apply the word in a sentence as this is often when the spelling is incorrect.

This week in Maths we have been looking at division. In Year 1 we talk about division as sharing into equal groups. It is really important to focus on the fact that all groups have to be equal.
Please support at home using objects and number stories. For example… There are 10 cakes. Amelie and Max share them. How many do they get each?
Or
There are 9 marbles. Miss Curtis, Mrs Jones and Mrs Murray share them. How many do they have each?
