This week, we have had lots of fun celebrating Book Week in Year 6. We have spent lots of time sharing book buzzes with each other and talking about our favourite books. We thought it would also be a good idea to make our own ‘Year 6 Book Review’ folder which has a collection of our own book reviews from this year. On Thursday, we spent some time creating some book reviews, which explained why we would recommend the book and who we would recommend it to. Each book review has been added to the folder so anyone can pick it up and have a look for a book recommendation.
This morning, we had the opportunity to be a part of a live session with author Dan Freedman. Year 6 were particularly excited about this as a few pupils had buzzed his book ‘Skills from Brazil’ earlier in the year. We listened to how he took inspiration from football and his childhood to help write his books, and we also had the chance to ask Dan some questions.
It has been a fantastic first week back in Year 6 and it has been lovely to hear how enthusiastic they are towards reading. Here are some of the books we are reading in Year 6…
