We had a cracking afternoon kickstarting our new topic ‘Tomorrow’s World’! We spent some time discussing the word ‘technology’ and how it covers a range of different things, and we also looked at how useful technology is in our everyday lives.

We then moved on to looking at how technology has changed over the last 50 years, especially gaming. The class were shocked to learn that the first commercial video game ‘Pong’ was released in 1972 and were even more surprised at how difficult the game was to start with! Some of the other games we looked into were: Space Invaders (1978), Pacman (1980) and Tetris (1984). The class also enjoyed spending some time exploring the games for themselves and giving them a go!

Tomorrow, we will be delving further into the history of technology and exploring even more inventions and significant events.
