This week we have been investigating sound. More specifically, how sounds are made. We’ve had a look at some musical instruments and worked out that you either have to hit, scrape, shake, blow, pluck different instruments for the sound to be made. As you do this, something vibrates (eg the skin of a drum, the string of a guitar). Without something vibrating, there is no sound.

Next week – exciting news- the whole of Year 4 will begin a 10 week course playing a brass instrument (trumpet or cornet or trombone). More details will appear in a letter to be sent home next Wednesday.
