The Role of the Pharaoh

This afternoon, Year 4 began to look at the hierarchy of Ancient Egypt. We were amazed by just how admired Pharaohs were! The children then listened to a history podcast and were given a transcript of what was being said. They were required to highlight relevant information associated with a pharaoh. They discussed:

• The significance of the Pharaoh
• How were they chosen?
• Clothing
• Beliefs
• Famous Pharaohs

The children then wrote up some information about what they had learnt about Pharaohs into their history books, thinking carefully about vocabulary, sentence openers and how they could structure their writing into paragraphs.
