Bincombe Football Match- A Close Encounter Indeed…

After school, Southill competed in their first league match of the season against Bincombe Primary School.

In the first half, Southill played some tidy football, hitting the crossbar and the post twice! At half time, the score however remained 0-0.

Early in the second half, a terrific shot from Southill just inside the box ended in the ball sailing past the keeper into the bottom corner…1-0 Southill! We dominated possession, however Bincombe played a lovely ball over the top and their striker slotted it past the keeper. 1-1.

The children showed real determination and resilience, taking back the lead making it 2-1 Southill. Late on in the game, a great pass across the box saw Bincombe equalize and the score ended 2-2.

We can take a lot of positives out of the game. The team certainly worked hard and I’m sure this will help us going into our match on Thursday against St Laurence Primary School.
