Class Two had an exciting day on Wednesday visiting the Safewise centre at Weymouth fire station.
The day started with an enjoyable walk to the centre, on which we were lucky to have a police and headteacher escort across the main roads! Once we’d arrived, the children took part in a Junior Citizen day in which they learnt all about staying safe in the home, at the beach, in the park, in the car, when crossing roads and on their bikes as well as staying safe by staying healthy. They took part in interactive games and activities throughout the whole day, including a stop, drop and roll disco!
It was a fantastic day which would not have been possible without the support of many people. So we would like to say a big thank you to, Mrs Lockwood, Mr Bell, Mrs Sanderson, Miss Readings, Miss Barton, Mr Matthews, Miss McCourt as well as the staff at Safewise, Ben, Sue, Sharon, Cassie and Emily. The children had fun and gained a great deal of knowledge from the visit.
Below are some of the photos from the day showing the main activities all of the children took part in.
We would also like to thank parents and carers for brining in their recyclable materials for us to use. The children have made some super games in DT with all of the materials. Thank you.
