Having a BLAST in Benchball!

This half term, Year 4 have been learning all about the invasion game Benchball. In case you are wondering how the game is played, it is very similar to the sport dodgeball. Two teams battle it out to eliminate everybody on the other side of the playing area. If a player is hit, they stand on the bench on the other side of the court. However, if they successfully catch a ball thrown by a teammate, the rejoin the game.

I must say, the children have developed their, spatial awareness, ability to throw a ball with accuracy and catch with confidence. We have also started to introduce other fun alternatives to the more ‘traditional’ game of Benchball, such as:

-The Dice of Doom

-Poison Ball

-Friendly Fire

-President 

-Bonus Ball
