Producing our Podcasts

This half term, Year 4 have been learning all about audio production. We began the unit by looking at and identifying a range of input and output devices that are used in order to work with sound digitally. The children then started at looking at the rise of podcasting and we looked at a number of different examples. They then got into groups with children that had similar interests to themselves and started to think about what they could talk about on their very own podcast. We looked at programmes such as Audacity and Twisted Wave that could be used to record audio.

Whilst these programmes are pretty good, the Chrome books were not the easiest to use when producing audio so children were then shown how a computer is capable of editing work, adding introductory music and how to save and publish their podcasts.
