Today year 2 have been very busy! We started this morning by separating pounds and pence into part whole models to find the correct amount. The children did an amazing job at working in pairs. They had to problem solve when they didn’t have the coin they needed. For example using five 2 pence pieces instead of a 10p piece. Then after lunch we had a lovely walk around the corner near to Tumbledown Farm and planted a tree each! It was really enjoyable to be out in the fresh air and the children even got to be the first to try out new steps made out of the trunk of an old pear tree!
