We have had so much fun in Year 4 working on our latest science project, States of Matter! We began by learning the States of Matter Chatter song, have a look and sing-a-long yourself!
After discussing the differences between solids, liquids and gases, we then separated items into the correct column and justified our answers using scientific knowledge, well done Year 4!
Our next activity was slightly messier as we were discussing how solids can be melted and turned into liquids and how better to do this than to demonstrate with chocolate buttons! Our last activity was looking at how states of matter can be reversed by studying the water cycle and seeing how water can be either a solid, liquid or a gas. This means that on planet Earth at any one point, there is only ever the same amount of water, it is just in different states!
Well done Year 4, great resourceful thinking in your project!
