Ding Ding! Welcome to all children and families who join our super school community from today, receiving confirmation of a place within our next generation Reception Class of 2024. We are so pleased (and very excited) to bring you on board, together we have the most amazing journey ahead with plenty of memories to make too and it all starts right now. Hooray!

So, what’s next? Over the next few weeks we’ll be sending useful information about starting school here at Southill Primary, including ways you can help your child to be ready.  You’ll also receive invites to events and activities designed to support this transition and to say ‘hello‘.  If you haven’t already, feel free to sign up and have a browse through our socials where we regularly share fun and informative content, you’ll also see what we get up to! We’ve a burst of events to look forward to this term, including those for our community – we’d love to see you there!

Our first TOP TIP: Sharing stories is fundamental for children’s language development. We encourage everyone to read together for at least 10 minutes every day so why not get into the habit now? You might choose to share some of your own books or try some new ones from the library. Very soon, we’ll enjoy time with our favourite stories together, we’re looking forward to hearing all about your most treasured adventures.  To begin, here’s our very first Cracking Good Read recommendation ‘When a Dragon Goes to School‘ by Caryl Hard & Rosalind Beardshaw.
