Survival Guides

Have YOU got what it takes to survive in the wild? Well, Year 4 certainly do! Over the past two writing lessons, Year 4 have been watching snippets from ‘Born Survivor’ with Mr. Bear Grylls and have learnt how to survive in the following terrains:

-Snow-covered mountains

-The desert

-The Jungle

The children were given a resource pack and were required to produce a survival guide detailing everything they had learnt about navigating and staying alive in difficult landscapes. From building shelters to finding water sources, wading through strong rivers to identifying which animals and plants can be digested, the children have certainly learnt a great deal of fascinating facts!

I am really proud of the children. The work they have produced is detailed, well-structured and shows just how much they have enjoyed learning about surviving in some of the most treacherous places on Planet Earth.
