“Hang about….we’re learning about Hockey as well?”
Not only will the children be visiting Weymouth Swimming Pool on a Friday morning this term, they will also be dabbling in a spot of hockey on a Tuesday. Despite the miserable weather, everyone was geared up and ready to head on outside to learn about sport the majority of them had never played before.
The progress in such as short space of time blew my mind! The children know now:
- How to grip the stick
- How to receive and deliver a push pass
- How to change direction using their wrists
- What side of the stick they are allowed to use
Next week, the children will learn about how to: squeeze (tackle), shoot and the importance of a brave goalkeeper in a hockey team. A very successful first session and I am looking forward to seeing just how much the children can develop over the next 6 weeks.
I had lots of fun learning how to play hockey ?
Ellie love the ? and can’t wait to do it again!
