Let Me Introduce Myself: Deputy Head Teacher at Southill Primary

Hello Southill Primary community!

I am thrilled to introduce myself as the new Deputy Head Teacher of Southill Primary. From the moment I walked through the doors for my first visit last academic year, I have felt incredibly welcomed by everyone—staff, children, and parents alike. It’s been a real pleasure getting to know this wonderful school over the course of my first week, and I already feel like part of the Southill community.

A little bit about me: I’m someone who loves a good adventure! I enjoy camping trips in our van with my wife and our two little girls, and we especially love exploring the beautiful coastline that our area has to offer. There’s something so relaxing about being out in nature, and I’m always on the lookout for our next family adventure.

I have been teaching for over 15 years and that journey has involved teaching nearly every year group across the primary range. I have worked in Crawley and Billingshurst (West Sussex) and most recently I held the position as the Assistant Headteacher at another local primary school in Weymouth.

I’m very excited about the year ahead, and I’m looking forward to working alongside everyone at Southill Primary to help make this year a successful and inspiring one for our children. Whether it’s helping the children grow academically or supporting them to build confidence and life skills, I can’t wait to get started on this journey with you all.

Please do come and have a chat if you see me around in the morning. It is always good to get to know the community more!

Thank you again for the warm welcome. Here’s to a fantastic year!

Matt
