What an amazing trip Year 1 had on Wednesday to Corfe Castle. We were very lucky with the weather and even managed to eat our lunch outside. The children did lots and lots of walking and didn’t moan once. We had a lovely Education guide called Elizabeth who taught us lots and lots about the history of Corfe Castle. We learned that the oldest part of the castle is ‘The Keep’ and that there is a launching weapon called a ‘Trebuchet’ which was used to launch dead animals, rotten vegetables and straw on fire at enemies.
We had such a good day that a couple of us had a snooze on the coach on the way back. I am super proud of Year 1 and their behaviour at all times whilst out and about on a school trip. It was a pleasure and I can’t wait for our next educational visit.
