Comprehension/Writing task
Today, we would like you to have a look at the instructions attached below: How to Make Gingerbread Men. Unfortunately, the instructions are all in a muddle! Please read through the instructions really carefully and talk to your grown up about the order they should be in. Then write them out, in the correct order, in your writing book. You can also draw your own pictures if you would like to.
Arithmetic task
Today we would like you to write out the five times table but without the answers! Cut out each equation (number sentence) then find places around your home to display them – maybe on doors, or door frames, window cills or shelves. As you go around your home, try to answer each multiplication fact each time you see one.
Maths task
Continuing our work on 3D shape, today we are going to start to describe the features of 3D shapes.
Please look at lesson 2 -’ Describing Three Dimensional Shapes’ in the Maths No Problem Textbook page 86. Find some objects around your house to represent different 3D shapes. Grown ups – Please help your child identify the vertices (corners), edges and faces, encourage them to use the mathematical terms: vertex, edge, face.
Please do not write in the Text Book on page 88 – a similar table is repeated in the workbook.
We would then like you to have a go at Worksheet 2 – pages 70, 71 and 72 in the Maths No Problem Workbook.
