11th May

Welcome to our second week of our Minibeast theme.

Picture of the day: We start the week with a close up of a bee! Have a chat about how it looks – how would you describe the bee? Write a sentence about the bee – here are some sentence starter ideas: The bee is……..     The bee has……   I can see…….. I like……………  It is ………….

Remember to use your sound boards to help you, including the tricky words on the back!

Phonics: Letters and Sound video lesson number 7.

Phase 4 Challenge: For your Phase 4 challenge, we continue looking at words with letter blends at the beginning (CCVC). Look back to last week – how to use a phoneme frame to sound out and write the words. Today your words start with a letter blend of gr.

Why not have a go at creating something green for a fun activity – draw a green picture, eat some green food, wear green clothes or make a green den!

Reading: Keep reading as much as you can and contact Mrs Wood if you are able to change your books. Why not create a book nook this week where you can read. You could take a favourite cuddly toy in with you to read to. Here are a few ideas to get you going.

Maths: White Rose: The Very Busy Spider. Another great week of fun maths activities from White Rose, based around another book by Eric Carle.
