Tuesday Tasks
Phonics: Letters and sounds lesson 41. Today we return to looking at words containing adjacent consonants (letter blends). This time there are also digraphs in the words too. Remember to use the phoneme frame to help you sound out each word as you write it.
Something Different: Try this dough disco today. You just need a ball of playdough to fit in your hand! Have fun and sing along.
Picture of the Day: The title of this picture is The Builders.
Who are the team that are building the Lego structure?
What is it you think they are building?
How long do you think it will take them to finish?
Have you ever built anything before?
Write about your ideas. Try to use the tricky word they in your sentence today and try to use the word and to tell me two things about the picture.
Maths: An episode of Numberblocks today. This episode is called Flatland. Look carefully at how each flat shape is made up of straight lines. One shape is made from a curved line.

When you have watched this, talk about the different shapes you saw. Then have a go at making some shapes using straight or curved lines. You could use pieces of wool or string, lolly sticks, straws or sticks from outside. You could even roll playdough into straight lines and use them!
Other Activities
Drawing Challenges: Using straight lines. Provide a selection of rulers (or just 1 if you can’t find any more) and large sheets of paper. Also have a choice of coloured pencils and biros too. Leave the children to explore drawing and colouring with straight lines. Here is one that I have started. Talk about your drawing when you have finished.
Second Challenge: Follow these instructions to draw a picture of a house.
Getting Outside: Can you remember we had a go at sketching outside? Try this again today but looking at any buildings around you. Take a clipboard, some paper and a pencil with you and draw one or more buildings you can see. Look carefully at the shapes in the buildings.
