Writing: Here is your picture of the day – for discussion, this is a fossil in a rock collected from the beach. Remember, the children will probably not know the exact spelling of fossil so will be sounding it out using sounds they know. Remember to use your sound board and think about how to start your sentence.

Reading: I hope you enjoyed reading the comic yesterday. Try this one today – after reading this you could try and create your own page for this comic. Have fun.

Puzzle challenge – Recycle boxes from your cupboard by cutting the front side off, then cutting into a puzzle. Increase the difficulty of the puzzle by cutting pieces smaller, or encourage your child to cut his/her own pieces.

Drawing challenge: Try this idea of drawing circles to create different pictures.Can you spot our robin?
