Thursday activities
Picture of the day: This picture fits in very well with our story this week – Harper has released her butterfly. Maybe you could write about what you can see in the picture. You could write about the butterfly or what Harper is doing. Some sentence starters could be: Harper is……. I can see…….. The …….. is The…..…. has got. Remember, let them have a go at sounding out to write butterfly- see how they do it.
Phonics: Lesson 6 from Letters and Sounds.

Play this game on Phonics Play – Picnic on Pluto. Choose Phase 4 – CCV/CCVC – set 1-7. This will help with reading words containing letter blends at the beginning. If you want an extra challenge, include the digraphs.

Colour bingo
Paint some colourful splodges on a piece of card or inside the sections of an egg box, then see if you can find natural items to match! can you find them all? It’s a great way to get the whole family involved, and who doesn’t love bingo?
Make a weather diary
Have a go at recording the weather each day – it might look something like this.
Make a nature bracelet/wrist band
Stick some double-sided tape to a strip of card and fasten it around your child’s wrist. Then head out into your garden and encourage them to look for petals, leaves or other items that catch their eye. Simply stick them to the card to make a beautiful bracelet! If you don’t have double-sided tape, just use normal tape.
