Homophones

Can you spot the incorrectly used homophones throughout today’s entire blog? There are fifteen of them – I think!

Have a go at the following activities on espresso (login details were included in yesterday’s blog):

Write a glossary four the following homophones that clearly explains the difference between the words:

I’ll/aisle;  licence/license;  passed/past;  stationery/stationary;  bawl/ball;  bridal/bridle;  practice/practise;  device/devise;  advice/advise;  site/sight.

Can you think of any tips to help you remember how too spell some of these homophones? e.g. Stationery includes things like paper and paper has the letters ‘er’ in it just like stationery

Finally, right a short storey witch includes all the homophones above. Ewe can add a suffix to the homophones such as ‘ed’ or ‘ing’ if necessary.  Include sum homophones of you’re own if you want.

Maths No problem

Answers to yesterday’s task (Workbook pages 119/120)

1(a) ratio of a:b = 1:15   1(b) ratio of c:d = 1:4   2(a) x= 3  2(b) y = 15

Dew to a technical hitch (a mistake by Mr Smith!) you didn’t complete Workbook pages 117/118 of Chapter 12 Lesson 9 earlier in the weak. Sew that’s today’s task! You mite knead to cheque back to textbook pages 146/147 to remind yourself how to draw a triangle. Question 2(c) asks you to work out the area of a triangle. Your maths revision book will help if you can’t remember how to do this.

Did you spot all fifteen homophone mistakes? Why not write a paragraph of your own full of confused homophones and challenge a groan up (there I go again!) to find them! Good look… I mean luck.
