Daily Tasks – Thursday 14th May 2020

Writing

Think about what you have written over the last week or so…

Incorporate lines from either the poems or narrative descriptions you have written previously into/underneath/around your drawing/painting or compose a new poem/narrative. Try to make your writing as ‘artistic’ as your artwork. Take your time and enjoy yourself. You’ll notice from Jon’s example above that what you draw does not have to be an exact replica of what something looks like in reality – in fact things often look better if they are not!

Arithmetic

Answers to yesterday’s coded mental maths:

From top to bottom in numerals: 2691, 27, 504, 17, 945, 6900, 580, 891. You’ll have to convert these answers using the code to check you were correct I’m afraid (I was unable to upload the the coded answers!)

Today’s task:

Maths No problem

Answers to yesterday’s guided practice task:

Today’s task:

Workbook pages 163/164

Hints:

Q1. Think about each segment of the pie chart in terms of a fifth or fifths or parts of a fifth.

Q2. Start by using ‘scooters’ to find out the value of one segment of the pie chart.

Have a go at these pie chart questions at White Rose maths. You’ll notice question 3 appears twice for some reason… you only have to answer it once!
