Daily Tasks – Tuesday 24th March

Writing

Watch this short video about a lonely robot who doesn’t know where he belongs…

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vZELV3rkZFM

Write an alternative ending to the video in which the robot goes into the ‘factory’. Why does he decide to go inside? What does he find? Who does he meet? Does he regret going inside? Rewatch the video if necessary and include details from the film to make your alternative ending plausible.

Arithmetic

Answer the first nine questions in this arithmetic quiz. You can answer them all if you want or complete the remaining nine questions tomorrow. The answers will be posted later in the week!

Maths No problem

Lesson Objective
To be able to solve problems involving angles in a circle.

Have a go at the In Focus task on page on P138 of Textbook 6B – Chapter 12 lesson 7. You will need to know what the internal angles of a circle add up to. Do you remember what the angles in a straight line add up to? Use your maths revision books to help and don’t forget to use any angles you are already given – including right angles – to help you.

When you’ve had a go at the In Focus task, look at the Let’s Learn section on pages 138/139. Read it through carefully so that you understand how to work out any of the missing angles you were not able to find.

Bloodheart

A healthy heart requires healthy food and it’s more important than ever that we eat healthily. Use the link below to check how healthy your diet is.  In your writing books, keep a ‘meal diary’ this week to record your findings. Use the colour coding system explained in the link to show how healthy your diet is.

Reading

Don’t forget to spend some time every day reading. You can also listen to books for free by following the link below:

Audible says: “For as long as schools are closed, we’re open. Starting today, kids everywhere can instantly stream an incredible collection of stories, including titles across six different languages, that will help them continue dreaming, learning, and just being kids.”

Art of Brilliance

A message from Andy Cope and the team at Art of Brilliance:

“Starting this week we are launching #WellbeingWednesday. We’ll be doing one lesson a week for as long as necessary. The vids will be released on our YouTube channel at 10am every Wednesday.”

The link to the YouTube channel will appear in tomorrow’s blog.
