Instructions
Over the past few weeks we have been looking at different things you can make with a toilet roll tube and turning these into instructions that we have followed and then written up for someone else to follow.
Over the weekend please use the toilet roll tube that your child has brought home to make a toilet roll craft and support your child to draw step by step pictures using the template. This has also been sent home.
We have used this template in school so it will be familiar. It is really important to use the template to draw pictures and not write the sentences as we will use this to write up the instructions in school next week. Please see example below from our Octopus crafts that came home today (Friday).
You can make your toilet roll as elaborate or as simple as you like, as long as the instructions make sense and follow our – First, Next. After That, Then and Finally structure. Please remember that your child will be writing these up in school so keep the instructions direct and simple. For example ‘First paint the tube with orange paint and leave it to dry’. You could add some advice for the reader, for example … First paint the tube with orange paint and leave it to dry. Leave it to dry overnight if you can.
If you are stuck for ideas, here are a few examples:
- rocket
- binoculars
- ninja
- pirate
These need to be returned to school on MONDAY 14th MARCH ready to be used in the week.
Thanks for your support
