Spellings – this week we will practice some tricky words. Hopefully you will all know these from reception, so it will be a case of recapping them at home. We will test spellings next Friday. We will not send test scores home, however we will be discussing their progress at parents evenings later in the term.

Maths

We are starting Maths No Problem in Year 1. For the first few weeks we will be focusing on number and place value. It is important that your child is confident counting backwards and forwards from any given number from 0-100.

Start initially with numbers between 0-20. Backwards and forwards from different numbers, not always  0 or 1. Then look at numbers between 0-30 etc.

I have sent a hundred square home today which you can use at home.
