Spellings

This half term we will continue working through all of the Year 1 common exception words. These are the words that your child is expected to be able to spell by the end of  Year 1 according to the National Curriculum. The list has been sent home several times throughout the year, so the words will be familiar.

Maths

This week we have been learning all about money! This has been really really tricky especially as most people do not use cash anymore- please support at home by looking at different combinations of coins, identifying the coins and their values. You could set up a shop at home selling objects from around the house. The Year 1 National Curriculum objective states that children should be able to ‘recognise and know the value of different denominations of coins and notes’. This is not going to be tested this week.
