Spellings – this week we will practice some tricky words again. Hopefully you will all know these from reception, so it will be a case of recapping them at home. Lots of us can read these words by sight which is great – we now need to spell them correctly in our writing.

We will test spellings next Friday. We will not send test scores home, however we will be discussing their progress at parents evenings later in the term.

This week we have been looking at counting backwards to zero.

Have a go at home at making up some number stories where you count backwards. Today we have been talking about eating cakes!!!

We started off drawing the items, or representing them on our tens frames. As each cake was eaten we counted backwards. You can see an example below….

Miss Curtis has 4 cakes. She eats 1, now she has 3. Next Noah eats 1, now she has 2….

How many different number stories can you come up with?
