Parents: all words are selected from the age-appropriate National Curriculum and are ‘tricky words’ that cannot be sounded out phonetically.

Maths

This week we have been learning about number bonds. We have been using ‘number bond diagrams’ to show the whole number at the top, and the two sections at the bottom which represent how the whole number can be made.

For example – 10 is made up of 5 + 5     or 9 +1.

The children are familiar with using these to separate a total of 10 objects into two groups. Examples are on the home learning which has been sent home in the children’s reading records.

Please reinforce this week’s learning at home by practising this method with objects that you have at home and the number bond diagram.
