Parents: all words are selected from the age-appropriate National Curriculum list of statutory words. These are words your child has to know by the end of Year 3/4. Children are being taught strategies for learning spellings as part of their work at school. Please encourage them to practise at home during the week, and carry out an occasional test to prepare them for Friday morning.

Maths Home Learning

This week, and for the next few weeks, we will be back to times tables. However, this time we would like children to have a go at ‘Speed Tables’. This involves a 10×10 grid which the children will have 7 minutes to complete them as fast as they possibly can. We’ve send home a couple of examples of the Speed tables grid in order for the children to have a couple of practises. TOP TIP- encourage your child to begin with times tables they are more confident with (1,2,3,4,5 and 10). Then go onto the slightly trickier tables (6,7,8 and 9).

On Friday after school, please ask your child to see their scores. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask.
