Spellings
This week’s words to learn are:
arrive
consider
length
often
special
They will be tested on Friday 12th March.
Parents: all words are selected from the age-appropriate National Curriculum list of statutory words. These are words your child has to know by the end of Year 4. Children are being taught strategies for learning spellings as part of their work at school. Please encourage them to practise at home during the week, and carry out an occasional test to prepare them for Friday morning.
On Friday after school, please ask your child their score.
Times Tables
This week’s math’s home learning is to revise/learn the first six multiplication and division facts for the 6x table:
1 x 6 = 6 ÷ 6 =
2 x 6 = 12 ÷ 6 =
3 x 6 = 18 ÷ 6 =
4 x 6 = 24 ÷ 6 =
5 x 6 = 30 ÷ 6 =
6 x 6 = 36 ÷ 6 =
We will test the children with an emphasis on speed of recall. The aim is to have ‘instant recall’ so practise, practise, practise! If you can already recall all the multiplication and division facts above instantly then try the 60x table.
