Today we are starting a new unit on Money. Please turn to page 16 in your Maths No Problem Textbook: Lesson 1 Writing Amounts of Money. It might be really helpful to have some real money to look at. Focus on the coins first, noticing their size, shape and colour. Then look at notes, focusing on their size, colour and designs. Continue through pages 17 and 18. Please do not write in the text book on page 18 – this activity is repeated in the workbook.
We would then like you to have a go at Worksheet 1 – page 21 in the Maths No Problem Workbook.

Topic based task: Wriggle and Crawl
We would like you to make a simple sketch map of the area where you carried out your minibeast hunt. Talk about the physical and human features that you saw using geographical vocabulary. A physical feature is something that grows or occurs naturally such as a hill, stream or plants. A human feature is something has been made or put their by people such as buildings, bridges or roads. Animals are not a feature on maps as they can move around. Add a key to indicate features on your sketch maps and plot the route that you took around the site. Identify stopping points or sampling areas along the route. Here is a link to a sketch map to give you an idea of what to do:
We wish you well with your home learning tasks. Please get in touch via email if you have any questions. Mrs Clark will be responding to emails today and tomorrow but is working in school today so will answer at appropriate times during the day. Happy learning!
