- Phonics
Today’s sound to recap is /ou/. This is a digraph which means two letters working together to make one sound. The O and the U making the /ou/ sound is usually seen at the end of words.
Visit phonics play https://www.phonicsplay.co.uk you will find the game ‘Burried Treasure’ in the ‘free phonics play’ section. Click on ‘Phase 5’ which is down the side of the screen on a pink tab and then scroll down to the game ‘Burried Treasure’ you then need to select ‘Phase 5’ again and it will ask you to choose your sound. Today choose ‘ou’. We have played this at school so the children will be familiar with it.
Next Segment and write these words together…. loud found sound cloud
Finally write a silly sentence using these words, for example A fluffy cloud made a funny sound.

Choose one of the activities that you would like to try at home. There are plenty that do not require lots of arts and crafts materials so don’t panic!! Have a go at making something from the website together. If you are unable to perhaps you could make lunch together?
The key purpose of the activity is to think about how instructions are broken down into steps using the time connectives that we have been practicing at school ‘First’ ‘Next’ ‘After that’ and ‘Finally’. Can you verbally retell the instructions – remember you need to be clear and bossy!!
Maths
Following on from yesterdays activity use your number bond to 10 flashcards to create the same but for your number bonds to 20. Remember, if you know 1 + 9 = 10 then you know that 11 + 9 = 20. If you know that 2 + 8 = 10 the you know that 12 + 8 = 20…..
Keep these safe with your number bond to 10 cards as you will need them again.
