Reading – Please encourage your child to read as much as possible at home. It’s also great for children to have the opportunity to read with an adult. Please write in their Reading Record Books and ensure these come back on Monday. If children need to complete a book quiz at home, then simply follow the link- Renaissance – Log In (renaissance-go.com).
Lexia– For those of you that also have Lexia accounts, why not login at home? Who knows, maybe you’ll make it onto our leaderboard in the 2%er assembly! – Lexia Core5 Reading – Login and Student Program
TT Rockstars – Please encourage your child to log onto TT Rockstars and improve their times table fluency – Times Tables Rock Stars: Play (ttrockstars.com). The best mode for children to regularly practise on is Garage Mode, as this is personal to the children and their stage of development.
Spellings
The spellings for this week are:
Accident
Breath
Caught
Decide
Extreme
Spellings will be tested next week on Friday the 20th of September.
Parents: all words are selected from the age-appropriate National Curriculum list of statutory words. These are words your child has to know by the end of Year 4. Please encourage your child to practice at home and carry out an occasional test to prepare them for Friday morning.
Times Tables
5 x table
The children will have questions on the five times table that go all the way up to 5 x 12. Try to encourage your child to learn as many 5x table questions as possible without needing to start back at the beginning, for example knowing that 5 x 6 is 30 rather than have to count in 5’s up to the answer.
TT Rockstars offers an interactive practise mode called ‘Jamming’ where the children can choose which tables they practise. This is ideal in preparation for our tests on Friday.
