This week (and last) in year 2, we have been learning about significant monarchs in British history. Last week we learned about the positive impact Queen Elizabeth I had during her reign and how she showed how women could lead, be important and not need to be married to do so! This week we learned about Queen Victoria and how she was only 18 when she came to the throne and how, with advice from her beloved Prince Albert, she improved the lives of the poor and made school compulsory!
We have also come to the end of our Shape unit in maths – when you’re out and about see how many 3D shapes you can see!
In English we have been looking at similes and adjectives – the children have come up with some brilliant and very clever ideas!
