Today, Year 6 finished their first class novel ‘Amari and the Night Brothers’ by B.B. Alston and it sure went down well!
This enchanting story follows the life of Amari Peters who is feeling rather lost since the disappearance of her brother Quinton. One day, Amari gets a strange invitation to visit the Bureau of Supernatural Affairs where Amari discovers that the world is much bigger than it seems, and that aliens, dragons, werewolves and magic really do exist.
Here’s what some of the class had to say about the book:
‘Amari and the Night Brothers is an adventure-filled story perfect for fantasy-loving children. It had me hooked the whole way through and I am so excited to read the next book in the series!’ – Fern
‘I loved this story because every chapter was full of suspense. Amari was my favourite character because she’s brave and adventurous. I would love to read the next book.’ – Lexi
‘I loved all the plot twists!’ – Molly
‘I loved this book because I love adventures and magic! There were so many plot twists throughout and my favourite part of the book was when Amari was on the hunt for her brother, Quinton!’ – Ellouise
‘ This book was great because there was always something that shocked me every time we read it. I would definitely recommend it to other children! My favourite part of the story was when Quinton was discovered… frozen!’ – Mia
Amari and the Night Brothers has definitely set the bar high for our class novels and there is a big queue for the second book ‘Amari and the Great Gang’ which is currently being read by a member of the class! We are now excited to see what our next book ‘Holes’ by Louis Sachar has in store for us!
