Today our Reading Champions hosted another book-buzzing meeting, all wildly enthusiastic about World Book Day plans and Bookflix updates. They began by welcoming new members (what a treat!), before moving on to organise how best to judge our ‘Dress a Potato’ competition. It was agreed that our Champs will meet at breaktime to look at all entries which will be announced during our special assembly after lunch. Please bring all potatoes (decorated as a favourite/much loved book character) to school on Thursday. We will have a book token as a prize for our favourite KS1 and KS2 entry.
Next they voted to trial ‘Bookflix @ Bedtime‘ which will feature a selection of books within each class specifically to enjoy as bedtime stories with families at home. They thought that many of us would enjoy the opportunity to browse and borrow books of perhaps a different genre to share at bedtime. Look out for Bookflix @ Bedtime coming to a class near you!
It was a pleasure to join our Reading Champs for their meeting today and to witness first-hand their love for reading and passion to promote all things book related within our school. Thank you for letting me gatecrash!
Look out for photos of our potatoes on Thursday!
