In this week’s yoga session the children warmed themselves up by travelling around the hall as different animals including snakes, rabbits and bears.
Then each child was given an animal card that explained a little bit about the personality of each animal and how they could inspire us with our movement in yoga and the way we treat others. For example the rabbit card said ‘The rabbit is very lucky and successful. It is very active and reminds us to remember to work hard and exercise. The rabbit is soft and loving and shows us how to be more friendly with others’.
After lots of different stretches inspired by the animals the session finished with ‘massage’. The children had to ask the child in front of them if they gave them permission to give them a massage. The children then carefully followed Sian’s instructions on how to gently massage each other’s backs, arms and heads. This was definitely the children’s favourite part of the session!
