Another Win for the Boys in Blue
After a fantastic result against Atlantic Academy a few weeks ago, the children were eager to get back out onto the pitch and play football. Our competition this time came in the form of Bincombe Primary.
The children settled quickly into the game and began passing the ball around with confidence. We managed to create a number of half-chances and we were very unlucky not to score early on in the game. Later in the half, a brilliant through ball into our striker saw us take the lead 12 minutes in. Whilst we kept possession well, we couldn’t put another chance away meaning that, despite our heavy pressure, we only went into the half time interval being 1-0 up.
After a quick sip of water and some pearls of wisdom from the manager, we were ready to turn our heavy pressure into goals in the second half. Whilst Bincombe did play a lot better, Southill were certainly more clinical. We managed to score 5 minutes into the second half which seemed to help the boys settle early and allowed them to express themselves more on the pitch for the remainder of the game. A dangerous corner into the box led to an own goal meaning that the game ended:
Southill 3 – 0 Bincombe
Another excellent display and another clean sheet for the boys who are really flourishing as a team year. An excellent display and I couldn’t be more proud.
As always, a huge thank you to the two teams for putting on a great display, thank you to Mr. Frampton for the photos and thank you to everybody who came to cheery on ‘The Mighty SPS’.
