Sadly, this week marks the end of our fantastic topic ‘Paws, Claws and Whiskers’. Over the past 6 weeks we have been looking at how to identify and classify animals and how to compare animals and human beings. We have started to look at how computers are used to find out information and have began to create our own animal fact sheets, finding the images and typing up the information by ourselves!!
This half term has been jam-packed with fun and exciting activities that we have all really enjoyed!
Below you can see our animal collages that we have created. This activity focused on using collage, a technique which was new to most of us is Year 1. We thought about how to bring together different materials, shapes and patterns as well as how to overlap materials to create lines and shapes in our images. This is quite a difficult skill to master and required lots of perseverance and reciprocal learning.
Another brilliant half term. Well done Year 1 – I am really proud of you all!
