Year 6 have been working incredibly hard on their arithmetic skills since September and today they were given the chance to show off all that they had learnt in a different type of Maths activity. With a pink and green highlighter at the ready, they were tasked with marking a set of arithmetic questions which I had answered!
They worked together to check my answers and decide whether they were correct or incorrect. If they spotted a mistake, they tried hard to figure out where I had gone wrong using my workings out. It was brilliant hearing the conversations between the class as they worked through the answers: the children spoke confidently about their methods and could identify errors and misconceptions easily.
Well done Year 6, excellent learning in Maths today.
