Bikes – I Wonder How They Work?
We had a really fun afternoon today in Year Three. As an end of topic treat to round off our work on ‘Cracking Contraptions’, Jonathan from Sustrans Charity taught us all about bikes.
We looked at:
- Bikes through history- how they’ve changed and developed
- How they allow us to move quickly and easily
- How the gears work
The children were then asked to try and make their own gears using string, straws and cardboard circles.
What an enjoyable afternoon and an eye-opening topic. Thank you, Jonathan.
