Book Talk – Wonder

To welcome the children back after the festive period, we tucked into yet another ‘Book Talk’. We use these sessions to introduce children to the wonders of brilliant books. This book was no exception as the book is in fact called Wonder by R.J. Palacio.

We began by looking at the opening chapter which introduced the plot and characters and then had a go at answering some questions based on what we had read.

The children were also pleased to hear that the book was also turned into a film.

It was great to see so many hands shoot up into the air when they were asked the questions ‘would you read this book?’ Since the Book Talk session, two children have started to read the book which is exactly why Book Talks are so rewarding as it introduces children to books they may not have known about before.
