Buzzing about Books!
Last half term, Year Three read both ‘The Iron Man’ and ‘The Wild Robot’. It is safe to say that they thoroughly enjoyed both books! So much so, that when we didn’t quite finish the last few pages of ‘The Wild Robot’ before Christmas, the first thing that a child asked when bursting through the doors on the first day back was, “Please can we finish the book?”
The book buzz doesn’t stop there however. We have a BRAND NEW book to sink our teeth into this half term. It’s called ‘The Legend of Podkin One-Ear’ and it’s written by Kieran Larwood. Trust me…It’s a cracker! One of my all time favourites and I’m sure the children are going to love it!
I cannot wait for the children to learn about:
- The Gorm
- How Podkin in fact lost his ear
- How incredible Pook (Podkin’s baby brother) is
It’s great to see children so excited during story time and it’s always fun reading books to children who love listening to a good story. I’m sure they will enjoy this book tremendously.
