It has been a super busy week. I have been in lots of meetings (not my favourite kind of week) so I feel like I haven’t seen the children enough this week and didn’t even make it out to the gate very often. Hopefully next week will be much quieter. When I did see them, I enjoyed hearing all about the brilliant things they were getting up to in class and I always love hearing from children who have gone above and beyond in their learning – well done 2%ers!
I have been able to speak to some children and asked them how they felt about the week without the bell. The majority of children told me that they liked it. Matt is sending out some surveys to get some official feedback so we’ll let you know how that goes.
As technology becomes increasingly integrated into our children’s lives, it’s crucial for us to ensure their online safety. I encourage you to remain vigilant about what your children are accessing on the internet. Here are a few tips to help keep them safe:
- Monitor Online Activity: Regularly check the websites and apps your child uses. Ensure they are age-appropriate and safe.
- Set Boundaries: Establish clear rules about internet usage, including time limits and appropriate content.
- Communicate Openly: Encourage your child to talk about their online experiences. Discuss the importance of privacy and the dangers of sharing personal information.
- Use Parental Controls: Utilize parental control settings on devices and apps to filter content and manage screen time.
- Stay Informed: Keep up-to-date with the latest online trends and potential risks, such as cyber-bullying and inappropriate content.
Together, we can create a safe online environment for our children. For additional resources and support, feel free to contact me or visit our school’s website.
In light of recent developments in world politics, I feel it’s more important than ever for us to emphasise and uphold our Southill Primary values of kindness and respect. These values are at the heart of our school community and guide how we interact with one another. I encourage you to discuss these values with your children at home, reinforcing the importance of empathy, understanding and respect towards others, regardless of their background or beliefs. By working together, we can ensure that our school remains a place of love and light – a welcoming and inclusive place for everyone.
With this in mind, please can I ask that you are considerate and respectful to our neighbours when you are parking near the school to drop off or collect your children. Thank you.
Have a lovely weekend everyone.
See you next week.
