C’mon England! Inspirational Speeches

This week, we have been learning all about producing and performing an inspirational speech. We discussed how emotive language, short sentences and emphasizing certain words could motivate and enthuse people.

We then put our new skills to the test as the children channeled their inner Gareth Southgate and wrote their very own speeches. The speech needed to motivate the England team before their semi-final match tonight against the Netherlands! It was incredible seeing the children thinking carefully about their vocabulary, sentence structure and punctuation and many of them even mentioned the success of the England Lionesses in order to help inspire and encourage the team.
