This week in our Stargazers topic, we have programmed a space buggy to navigate the surface of the moon!
We used our reciprocal skills to program a path into the Beebots and drew a path for them on our tables. Have a look at our resourceful coding!
We also completed our own Galileo test this week to see if heavier objects fall to the ground faster than lighter objects. It was a universal ‘yes they do’ until Mrs Hill showed the video of Brian Cox completing the same test in the NASA Vacuum Chamber in the BBC’s Human Universe series. This taught us that actually, air resistance affects the rate of fall and gravity actually pulls every object at the same rate and speed, no matter what their weight or mass!
Phew, what a week of amazing learning Year 5!
