Colour Theory

In year 4, we have been learning about colour theory on a Monday afternoon with Mrs. Aitken. We have explored and experimented mixing secondary and tertiary colours. We have looked at warm and cool colours, the effects they create and the emotions they represent.

We have also looked at analogous and complementary colours and studied paintings by famous artists such as Van Gogh and Picasso and discussed the effects that using different colour palettes can have on a viewer.

Finally, we put what we have learnt into practice by creating our own compositions using a pair of complementary colours!
