In Year 2 this week we have started learning how to divide by grouping and by sharing.  The children have been really resilient as this seemed quite tricky at the beginning of the week but are really getting the hang of it now.  We can now put counters into equal groups saying how many groups we’ve made and share counters saying how many in each group.  Ask them to show you the ‘sharing shower’ – they have got really good at this.

In the afternoons we are marching on with our ‘Beat Band Boogie’ topic.  We are about to join The Grand Old Duke of York’s marching band and have been busy making instruments after watching the Trooping of the Colour to learn all about marching in time and explore the wonderful instruments being played.  We thought the soldiers looked really smart in their red tunics and we were amazed with their marching in such straight lines!
